News from the Town Office
Town office will be closed for Labour Day, September 1, 2025.
Town Office Hours - We are now open during lunch (12pm - 1pm) on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Feel free to come down then if you are limited for time when we are open.
Transfer Station Rates & Hours - Now open Tuesdays 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 5pm.
The rates that are being charged at the transfer station have changed for Allan residents.
This means a flat rate charge for all items, as opposed to the sizing charge that it was at.
A new rate list is posted on the Town Bulletin Board. Hours will revert October 31, 2025.
Assessment updates — Do you know that by doing a Building Permit, you are going to increase
your property assessment? This does help our town! This year across the whole town assessments
went down approximately 20% which means that SAMA believes your home is worth less. We
don’t believe that as I am sure a realtor will not either. Make sure that you do complete Building
Permits for updates to your home to help your value on your property going forward.
Water & Sewer — Council did increasing the water rates to a minimum charge of $167.94 from
$160.71. This is due to the rising costs of our water supply from SaskWater.
Payment options — We do have many different ways to pay your bills here at the office. You
don’t need to come in person! You can e-transfer to Townofallan@sasktel.net or utilize the drop
slot in the West side door for after-hours payments by cash or cheque.
Can people walk the sidewalk in front of your home, or is it covered by your trees and
shrubs? — We note that many people have made the effort to cut back their trees and hedges, but
there are still places where walking the sidewalk is difficult. Please take care of this problem
before winter comes. Remember front hedges are to be no more than a meter high.
Are your Garbage & Recycle Bins cracked? Missing a wheel? — If they are cracked or have
wheel problems, please let us know at the Town Office and we will get a replacement bin to you.
Dogs & Cats — All dogs and cats are to be leashed and under control when not in your yard.
Clean up after your pet no matter where they do their business. Bylaw enforcement deals with
written complaints on a monthly basis. When you have a concern, contact the office for a form.
We cannot do any enforcement without a written complaint. For Dog Bite, contact the RCMP and
Public Health.
