July 2026 - Happy Canada Day!

News from the Town Office

Town office will be closed on Canada Day, July 1, 2026.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Canada Day!

Transfer Station & Yard Clean Up Summer hours are Saturdays 9am - 5pm

& Tuesdays 10am - 5pm. Organic yard waste is free of charge for residents (with $3 gate fee).

SAMA — They are still out in our community and will be for the summer. Please ensure that

you work with the agent coming around. They may have some questions about your property.

House Numbering — Council is pleased to see all of the updates that were done for house

numbering. Thank you for your assistance. This measure is so that if any emergency services are

required they will be able to find you fast! House numbers must face the street of which your

home is addressed. Charges will be issued if you do not have your houses properly numbered

after June 1st with numbers that are at least 4 inches in size or a sign with your house numbers.

This will be due to the cost we will incur for the signs being placed on your homes.

Garbage and Recycle Bins — Please ensure that your bins are not left on Town property

after pickup days. Council has now passed a resolution to which those bins that are left out for

more than 48 hours will be affected. Our Public Works staff will move them back to your

property, and if they do so, there will be a charge of $20.00 per bin, billed monthly, and after 30

days with no payment, this charge will be moved to your taxes. Moving these back helps keep our

town clean.

DID YOU KNOW that $255 of your property taxes per year go towards the expense of

garbage and recycling bins? Due to this, anyone with more than one can of each bin will soon be

billed an annual fee of $250.00/year.

Parking — We ask that you move vehicles and trailers regularly. There is a Bylaw that regulates

vehicles to be moved every 72 hours. The Town can tow these vehicles if they are not moved.

Dogs & Cats — Please ensure that you are cleaning up after your pets. We want our town to be

nice and tidy. The Bylaw does state that even personal yards need to be cleaned up of animal

waste.

Volunteerism — We are a small town and we are heavily volunteer based. We are always

looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in helping in the community, please feel free to

contact the office and we can help you find a group to help in!
