August 2026 - Summer's Strolling Along

Town office will be closed on August 3, 2026 for the civic holiday.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Transfer Station & Yard Clean Up Summer hours are Saturdays 9am - 5pm

& Tuesdays 10am - 5pm. Organic yard waste is free of charge for residents (with $3 gate fee).

House Numbering — Council is pleased to see all of the updates that were done for house

numbering. Thank you for your assistance. This measure is so that if any emergency services

are required they will be able to find you fast! House numbers must face the street of which

your home is addressed. Should the Public Works staff need to install the signs for you there

will be fees incurred against you due to the cost we will incur for the signs being placed on

your homes. Please ensure you are using numbers that are at least 4 inches in size or a sign

with your house numbers.

Keep Allan Looking Good — Remember to keep your hedges in the front yard no more

than 1 meter high - this is an old rule, with a new reminder. Also, keep the grass mowed to

keep our community looking great. Debris in lanes is also a problem - please keep these areas

cleaned up.

Parking — There is a Bylaw that regulates ALL vehicles to be moved every 72 hours. We

ask that you move vehicles and trailers regularly. The Town can tow these vehicles if they are

not moved.

Dogs & Cats — All dogs and cats are to be leashed and under control when not in your

yard. Please ensure that you are cleaning up after your pets. We want our town to be nice and

tidy. The Bylaw does state that even personal yards need to be cleaned up of animal waste.

Volunteerism — We are a small town and we are heavily volunteer based. We are always

looking for new volunteers. If you are interested in helping in the community, please feel free

to contact the office and we can help you find a committee that would be a good fit!
