News from the Town Office Volunteer of the Year—Council in 2021, established a Volunteer of the Year Award. Applications can be obtained from the Town Office. Applications will be accepted until the day before the November meeting of Council each year, at which time they will be reviewed by Council. The form is also available on the website, for on-line submission. Swimming Pool Project The tender has been awarded and work will commence to repair the bottom of the swimming pool over the winter. Public Works Safety– During the road work, individuals have been driving through work zones and putting our public works staff at risk. Please KEEP OUR WORKERS SAFE AND STAY OUT OF WORK zones in the Town of Allan, THIS INCLUEDS DURING CONSTRUCTION AND SNOW REMOVAL Redbird Fibre Internet—Redbird will continue to install the individual connections in the next while. You still have the opportunity to connect for free while the crews remain in town. Fall Clean Up—The transfer station will be waiving the gate fee on Saturday, October 29, 2022 for Allan Residents for Free Clean Up Day. Reminder—Its time to remove campers and RVS from streets to make snow removal effective. Please have these put away as soon as possible, preferably before the first snow fall. Home Based Businesses—Council has considered and approved many different Home Based Businesses in Allan from automotive repair to daycare. Make sure you’re included when we put it on the website. Pets—Our Animal Control Bylaw requires licenses to be on all dogs and cats. Remember leashes are mandatory when not in your yard. Clean up after your pet no matter where they do their business.
