June 2025 - Summer's Here

News from the Town Office

Doesn’t it feel like summer is here? — New summer hours for the Town Office & Transfer Station

Transfer Station Rates & Hours - Now open Tuesdays 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 5pm.

The rates that are being charged at the transfer station have changed for Allan residents. This

means a flat rate charge for all items, as opposed to the sizing charge that it’s currently at. A new

rate list will be posted on the Town Bulletin Board.

Animal Control — Remember, all dogs and cats are to be leashed, and under control when not

contained in your yard. Also, you must clean up after your pet. Bylaw enforcement deals with

written complaints on a monthly basis.

Home Based Businesses — If you have or plan to operate a home based business, you need a

Development Permit from the Town of Allan to operate a business according to our Zoning Bylaw.

It takes a couple of months, but is not costly; $25.00 for the application including advertising and

$20.00 for your business license on a yearly renewal . We look forward to hearing from our local

at-home businesses.

Building Information — If you are altering your home/garage, there may be permits required.

Building Permits are now required for most work done on your home in accordance with the

Construction Codes Act as of 2022. Please call the office if you have any questions. This even

includes changing your windows and doors for new upgrades.

Water & Sewer — Council will be increasing the water rates to a minimum charge of $167.94

from $160.71. This is due to the rising costs of our water supply from SaskWater.

Payment options — We do have many different ways to pay your bills here at the office. You

don’t need to come in person! You can e-transfer to Townofallan@sasktel.net or utilize the drop

slot in the West side door for after-hours payments by cash or cheque.

Town Office Hours - We are now open during lunch (12pm - 1pm) on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Feel free to come down then if you are limited for times when we are open.
