Pet Licenses— Last Call to license your pets before Bylaw Enforcement is given names to issue tickets in March. Please check that all pets are registered, or if you no longer have your pet, inform the Town Office so we may take you off the pet ownership list. We have email and voicemail to send us your information at your convenience. Remember that ALL dogs and cats must be on a leash unless they are in your yard. Pets are not to be let out at night to roam the streets. Also, you are responsible to clean up after your pet. Snow Clearing continues, this blustery, snowy winter. The thaw could be difficult this year with snow many layers of snow and ice, so please take your vehicles, trailers, boats are off the streets so that snow may be cleared. The Public Works dept. is working hard to keep our streets clear. Thank you to residents for your help! Remember, the snow from your driveway belongs in your yard, not on the street. Home Based Businesses—If you have or plan to operate a home based business, you need a Development Permit from the Town of Allan to operate a business according to our Zoning Bylaw. It takes a couple of months, but, is not costly, $20.00 for the application including advertising and $20.00 for your business license on a yearly renewal . You will need to fill out a development application, indicating your name, civic address, description of business and we will take care of the rest, including a letter to adjacent land owners and taking it to Council after an appropriate time for them to respond. We can email the form to you so that you can bring your business into compliance., if you aren’t already. We look forward to hearing from our local at home businesses. Now is a good time as Council isn’t enforcing this at present, we want to catch up with anyone who’s been missed. COVID Rapid Test Kits are available for pick up at the Town Office.
