July 2023 - It's Summer Summer Time!
News from the Town Office Town Council are working on a program to have all our volunteer committee members, Council and Staff attend a harassment workshop. These will be a one evening course, with a few date options. Council is seriously considering making this program mandatory for anyone wishing to be on any of our committees. Council would like to thank Russell Schick for the great job trimming the shrub in front of the Town Office.
Tree and Shrub Trimming—We have noticed that many people have trees and shrubs which are covering sidewalks and making lanes difficult to drive through. Please trim these back so that the sidewalks and lanes are able to accommodate pedestrians and vehicles. Remember front hedges are to be no more than a meter high.
Garbage & Recycle Bins—If your bins are out on the street, legally, anyone is able to look through your bins at any time. Please store your garbage and recycle bins on your property, well away from the street. On pick up days, please put your bins right at the edge of any paved surface and then bring your bins back on to your property as soon as you are able.
Pets —Remember we have a pooper scooper section in our animal control bylaw. All pets must be licensed and on leashes when not in your yard.
Summer Employment —We are still looking for an applicant to work with our public works department this summer. Requirements are a class 5 drivers license and steel toed footwear. You will learn about town maintenance and operations.
Recreation Facilities Maintenance — We would like to welcome Micheal Unruh McDavid to this position. He will be learning all the duties and adjusting to the position through the summer.
