August 2025 - Rain & Heat

News from the Town Office

Town office will be closed on the civic holiday in August, August 4, 2025. — New

summer hours for the Town Office & Transfer Station.

Town Office Hours - We are now open during lunch (12pm - 1pm) on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Feel free to come down then if you are limited for time when we are open.

Transfer Station Rates & Hours - Now open Tuesdays 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 5pm.

The rates that are being charged at the transfer station have changed for Allan residents.

This means a flat rate charge for all items, as opposed to the sizing charge that it was at.

A new rate list is posted on the Town Bulletin Board.

Assessment updates—Do you know that by doing a Building Permit, you are going to

increase your property assessment? This does help our town! This year across the whole

town assessments went down approximately 20% which means that SAMA believes your

home is worth less. We don’t believe that as I am sure a realtor will not either. Make sure

that you do complete Building Permits for updates to your home to help your value on your

property going forward.

Water & Sewer — Council did increasing the water rates to a minimum charge of $167.94 from

$160.71. This is due to the rising costs of our water supply from SaskWater.

Payment options — We do have many different ways to pay your bills here at the office. You

don’t need to come in person! You can e-transfer to Townofallan@sasktel.net or utilize the drop

slot in the West side door for after-hours payments by cash or cheque.

Home Fire Fighter Insurance — Have you looked into your Fire Fighter Insurance for your

home? You would not pay for Town of Allan Fire Fighters to come out if you live in the Town of

Allan, but you would be paying for all of the other departments to come out. Make sure your are

covered appropriately.

Keep Allan Looking Good—Remember to keep your hedges in the front yard 1 meter high, this

is an old rule, with a new reminder. Also, keep the grass mowed to keep our community looking

great. Debris in lanes is going to be a problem please keep these areas cleaned up.

Dogs & Cats—All dogs and cats are to be leashed and under control when not in your yard.

Clean up after your pet no matter where they do their business. Bylaw enforcement deals with

written complaints on a monthly basis. When you have a concern, contact the office for a form.

We cannot do any enforcement without a written complaint. For Dog Bite, contact the RCMP and

Public Health.
